The newest member of Damen Yachting’s Limited Editions range, the Amels 8003 yacht, has made a spectacular entrance with a classic sideways launch. This 262-foot (80-meter) megayacht is the third vessel in the Amels 80 series and aims to continue the builder’s tradition of semi-custom luxury yachts.
Building and Launch
The Amels 8003 yacht was unveiled in late November at Damen Yachting’s hull construction facility in Galati, Romania. This significant occasion was attended by the talented artisans who crafted the steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Like its forerunners, the yacht was constructed on spec, allowing prospective customization to align with the owner’s wishes. While specific details regarding the owner’s customizations remain private, the yacht’s semi-custom nature guarantees a personalized experience.
Interior and Configuration
Conceived by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, the Amels 8003 yacht features a versatile interior setup. The vessel can host up to 14 guests in seven staterooms, including an opulent owner’s suite. The owner’s suite spans much of the deck above the main deck, ensuring privacy and direct access to a private hot tub. The main deck is spacious enough for family and friends, with the option to transform one of the two forward VIP staterooms into a lounge, creating a full-beam VIP suite with an adjoining sitting area.
The yacht also provides accommodations for 20 crew members, with the captain’s quarters conveniently positioned aft of the wheelhouse. Boasting a gross tonnage of 2,175, the Amels 8003 comprises six decks, five of which are allocated to social and private areas.
Outdoor Features
The Amels 8003 yacht features expansive outdoor spaces designed for both relaxation and entertainment. The sundeck offers 2,153 square feet (200 square meters) of area, ideal for sunbathing or hosting events. A sizeable swim platform at the stern includes lounge seating and facilitates easy access to tenders and water toys. Additionally, the beach club, situated just off the swim platform, features opening side platforms for enhanced convenience.
Furnishing and Handover
After its launch in Romania, the Amels 8003 yacht is currently going through complete outfitting at Damen Yachting’s shipyard in Vlissingen, The Netherlands. This location will host the yacht’s christening celebrations prior to handover in 2026. Meanwhile, work is already progressing on the fourth and fifth hulls in the Amels 80 series, with the fifth hull currently available for purchase. Furthermore, the inaugural Amels 80 is close to completion and is scheduled for delivery in the upcoming year.
