Italian Shipyard Codecasa Delivers First 57-Metre Superyacht Legacy 4

New Build Marks Milestone For Viareggio Yard With Collaborative Design Approach

Italian shipyard Codecasa has announced the delivery of Legacy 4, marking a significant milestone for the Viareggio-based builder. The 56.8-metre superyacht represents the first unit of the Codecasa 57 model line and completed its journey from keel laying to handover after three years of meticulous construction that began in December 2023. Known throughout the build process as hull F81, the vessel hit the water in February at the Codecasa Ugo Shipyards, where it underwent final outfitting before delivery to its owner.

The superyacht’s design reflects a collaborative approach that brings together multiple creative voices. Italian designer Tommaso Spadolini worked alongside Codecasa’s in-house technical team to develop both the exterior lines and interior spaces, with the design philosophy centered on achieving a balance between privacy and conviviality. Pierluigi Ausonio PLANA contributed the naval architecture, while Ocean Independence and Yanova represented the owner’s interests throughout the build process, ensuring that every detail aligned with the owner’s vision. The construction journey proved challenging, yet the yard’s statement reflects the collaborative spirit that defined the project. “The building, from the keel laying up to the completion, has been a three-year journey of a well-consolidated work team, in which each actor has been playing a key role. All challenges encountered during the building have been successfully overcome thanks to the productive and positive daily co-operation among these people, who have been striving, each one for its part, to make the owner of the yacht happy,” the yard noted.

Interior spaces showcase refined craftsmanship with mahogany wood cabinetry complemented by high-quality marble and stone selections across flooring and furnishing details. Velvet and silk upholstery add layers of luxury throughout the accommodation areas. The layout accommodates an owner’s suite alongside five guest cabins, with additional crew quarters including a captain’s cabin and six twin cabins. An elevator system connects all decks, enhancing both convenience and accessibility throughout the vessel. Powered by twin 2,375-horsepower Caterpillar engines, Legacy 4 achieves a maximum speed of 17 knots at light displacement. The yacht demonstrates impressive range capabilities, with a cruising distance of 5,000 nautical miles when operated at a more economical 12-knot speed. These performance characteristics position the vessel well for extended voyages across diverse cruising grounds.

The delivery of Legacy 4 underscores Codecasa’s commitment to personalized service and collaborative relationships with owners. Rather than imposing a singular design vision, the yard worked closely with its client and design partners to create a vessel that reflects individual preferences and requirements. This relationship-first approach has become increasingly valued in the superyacht market, where owners seek vessels that feel uniquely theirs rather than mass-produced interpretations of luxury. Looking ahead, Codecasa maintains an active order book with three additional yachts currently under construction. The shipyard’s pipeline includes the seventh unit from its Codecasa 43 model line, scheduled for delivery in spring 2028, demonstrating sustained demand for the yard’s designs and build quality. The successful delivery of Legacy 4 positions Codecasa well for continued growth in the competitive superyacht construction market, particularly among discerning owners who value the Italian yard’s technical expertise and collaborative design methodology.
