Born in Scotland and raised in The Bahamas, Captain John Bruce brings a lifetime of island knowledge and a true passion for life at sea. With certifications as a Yacht Master Offshore and PADI Dive Master, John combines a spirit of adventure with a strong commitment to safety and outstanding service.

John’s journey started young, scuba diving the crystal-clear waters of The Bahamas at just 18 years old. Since then, he’s built a career crafting unforgettable experiences both above and below the water. From managing private and charter yachts like M/Y Watercolours and M/Y Oculus to running vessels from 62ft to 126ft, John’s hands-on expertise ensures every charter is smooth, seamless, and unforgettable. His mechanical know-how spans major engine brands like Caterpillar, MTU, and Yanmar, making him an invaluable resource both on deck and below.

Though he calls The Bahamas home, John’s adventures have taken him across the Caribbean, Mediterranean, UK, and Scandinavia—each destination adding to his deep well of experience and stories. Beyond his time at the helm, he’s also an expert in yacht management, overseeing everything from dockage to repairs with meticulous attention to detail.
